The Gorgeous Sexy and Rich series was conceived in a discussion with when I saw Keon hard at work writing his book, ‘Make Your Money Work for You’, also published by Marshall Cavendish International Asia (MCIA).

‘Hey Keon, no woman is going to read your book!’  I said.

‘Of course they will,’ he said, looking up at me from his notebook computer wearing a deep frown wondering what on earth I was now on about.

‘Nope, they won’t.  And you know why?  Because they will read to page 10 and then they will leave it aside.’

Keon was staring hard at me by now.  Perhaps I had something stuck on my face.  So I brushed off the imaginary thing from my face, and continued.

‘Women are different from men.  We are relational human beings.  Your book is a book of numbers and facts.  Most women are going to fall asleep.  I would!’

By now, Keon looked like he was about to burst, thinking of half the market he was going to miss out on.  Then I said, ‘How about I write a book on money with you?’

He said, ‘I don’t think so. But let me ask the publisher.’

And so he did.  And the editors in MCIA were supportive of the concept.  Women must be able to handle money, they said.  And also yes, women want to be beautiful too.  And they want to be independent as well, and fall in love too.

I could have told them that we women want everything!

And so the GSR books were birthed.

Thanks to a wonderful person, Keon, and thanks to a great group of people in MCIA whose continued critique I value  very much.

And now you know the story…
